DNA Cystinuria Disease Test for Newfoundlands

Cystinuria is an inherited autosomal recessive disorder and is characterized by the formation of cystine stones in the kidney, ureter, and bladder.

In this disorder, the kidneys do not adequately reabsorb certain amino acids during the filtering process, thus resulting in excess excretion of these amino acids. The amino acids may precipitate and form crystals or stones in the kidneys, ureters, or bladder.

DDC Veterinary is offering DNA Cystinuria Testing for Newfoundland Breeders worldwide.

We will provide the owner with a detailed DNA report showing the canine's ID information and genotype for Cystinuria: CLEAR, CARRIER, or AFFECTED.
